The BAHS Program welcomes exchange students to join our classes!
Students from exchange programs often find their experience in our program rewarding in many ways:

2) Engaging with cutting-edge topics in the humanities and social sciences
3) Immersing themselves in university life and culture in Chiang Mai
Application Procedure for Exchange Students in the BAHS Program
1. Confirm eligibility through your home university
Check with your home university to see whether there is an active Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Chiang Mai University or the Faculty of Humanities.
2. Choose your preferred CMU semester
CMU semester periods are as follows:
○ Semester 1: Last week of June – End of October (including the final examination period)
○ Semester 2: Mid-November – End of March (including the final examination period)
3. Contact your home institution for nomination
○ Contact your program or your institution’s international office to request nomination for the exchange.
○ Our program does not have a fixed nomination deadline for each semester; however, your institution should submit nominations at least two months before the start of the CMU semester.
○ Please note: The nomination approval process at CMU takes a minimum of two months. Once approved, the nominated student should also allow at least two additional weeks to apply for a student visa.
4. Nomination submission
Your institution can nominate students by directly emailing the International Office of the Faculty of Humanities:

Requirements for Joining the BAHS Program as an Exchange Student
1. English language proficiency
○ Minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent.
○ Students who are citizens of countries where English is an official language are exempt from submitting English test scores.
2. Current student status
○ Must be enrolled and hold student status at your home institution at the time of application.
3. Portfolio submission
○ A complete portfolio should include:
▪︎ Academic transcript
▪︎ Curriculum Vitae (CV)
▪︎ Documentation or description of relevant social and/or cultural experiences

• Exchange students in the BAHS program or the Faculty of Humanities may also take courses from other faculties at CMU. However, they must take at least two courses per semester within the BAHS program.
