On-Campus

CMU has several types of on-campus accomodations.

The 1st option is the one referred to as the "old dorms," which includes Male Dorms No. 3 - 7 and Female Dorms No. 1 - 8. This choice enjoys popularity among Thai students who enroll at CMU through the national admission system (TCAS) and it is verey competitive.  One of the key advantages is its affordability. However, it is important to acknowledge that the facilities may exhibit signs of wear and tear. Typically, each room accommodates up to three students, facilitating a communal living experience.

The second option is the so-called "new dorm".  This "new dorms" includes Male Dorms No. 1 - 2 and Female Dorms 11 - 12. The buidlings of these dorms were finished in 2021, so the condition is newer and more modern. However, the price is higher than the "old dorms". The new dorms are quite popular too. It is recommended that students who have accepted the offers to study at CMU reserve the spot immediately if they want to stay in these new dorms.

If you are female, you have another two options: Female Dorm No. 9 ("Pink Dorm") and Female Dorm No. 10 ("40 Year Anniversary Dorm"). These two dorms are located behind the university's sport complex.

Dorms exclusively for international students:

If you would like to experience greater national and cultural diversity, CMU also has another dormitory for international students. International Student Dorms A and B are situated in one of Chiang Mai's prime locations: Nimmanhemin Road, just a 5-minute drive from the main campus. Students residing in these dormitories can conveniently access the campus via the CMU shuttle bus, which operates from in front of the dormitories to the bus interchange located in front of CMU Food Center.
