Panaporn from Class of 66 Reflecting on Volunteer Trip at Baan Pangkwang School

By Palm Panaporn (BAHS’66)

On 6th December 2023, our group in BAHS program went to Baan Pang Kwang school at Mae Taeng, Chiang Mai, to organise a voluntary project. Being a small district school, Baan Pang Kwang  school needs renovations of the children’s learning space and facilities. BAHS students decided to volunteer to provide some helps!

This project was mainly organised by a team of BAHS’66 students, with helps from BAHS’ Student Council and Humanities Student Association (SMO). Oragnising this project was very exciting and new to us. It was not very usual for the first-year students to organise a voluntary trip on their own, but BAHS program allowed us to explore and try new things outside classrooms. Not only we got to work with Baan Pang Kwang school, but also we got to work with True and Lactosoy, who were the sponsors of this trip too. Our team tried our best to make this project useful to both the school and BAHS team.

At the school, we divided everyone into three groups, with three different activities: painting sport ground, doing plantations, and lastly organising learning activities for school students. All the activities were very fun, and we got some helps from the students there too. We also bought some stationeries, sport equipment, and gardening tools, from the donation money to improve the school’s learning space and learning equipment.

In overall, we were very happy and pleased to be able to help the school provide better facilities for young students there. Most importantly, we were and are very thankful for all of the kind welcomes, and the helps from every organisation. Lastly, we are very excited for our next BAHS generations to be part of our further activities.
