Credit check-list and course enrollment for BAHS' 67

Here is the course suggestion for the semester 1/2024 for the 1st year of BAHS major:

When registering for the courses, there are courses that will already be registered as part of the 1st year package. There is also a course that you must register manually because it is also mandatory. In addition, there are courses that you have to choose according to your academic purpuit and preference.

Course that is automatically registered for the 1st year.
For this one, students do not have to do anything as it should appear in your course's schedule.

ENGL 207 English for Effective and Creative Communication

Course that is mandatory for the 1st year, but not automatically registered.
For this one, students have to register by themselves.

IH 100 (049100) Introduction to Humanities and Sustainability

What follow are the courses that are choosable (within their catagories). For these courses, students should discuss with their advisors which ones would be suitable for study at BAHS/Faculty of Humanities in the first year.

Category 1: the "101 GE group"
> Choose ENGL 101, if you feel that you need a brush up your foundational English.
> Choose TFL 101, if you do not have any knowledge in Thai, and would like to learn basic Thai, and plan to take one of the foreign language courses as Thai from the 2nd year on (TFL 103/131 and others).
> Apply for exemption, if your English proficiency is already good, and wants to enrol in other courses instead (for the exemption procedure, see in
https://www1.reg.cmu.ac.th/reg-transfer/report/2902042d7642463a447acf0256557301_eng.pdf)

Category 2: the "GE Learner Person group"
> Study the following link, particularly the catagory called "Learner Person", and choose one course
:(for the updated list of GE course in 1/2024 semester, click GE and Free Elective List 1/2024)

C ategory 3: BAHS Core course (200-level)
> Study the 200-level core course offered for BAHS major above, and choose one course

In summary, if you are able to register courses as suggested above, you should have five courses in your course timetable (around 15 credits). This is the standard for all BAHS major in the 1st semester.

If you wish to enroll more, please consult your advisor. CMU allows the maximum course registeration for one semester as 21 credits (around 6-7 courses).

Credit check-list and course enrollment for BAHS' 66
